Grace Island Solar Power System
Grace Island is an acre river island where REsource installed a solar system in early 2017. Previously all power was from a diesel generator and therefore only available at certain times of the day. With solar, the people living there now have 24 hour access to power which will provide basic utilities like fridge freezers, washing machines and lights all day in the winter. These conveniences are taken for granted by the majority of households on the national power grid.
REsource carried out all of the design work remotely, over the phone and emails. Extensive conversations were had to ensure that, when we arrived to install the Outback One Board, everything else was in place and according to the plan. The family on the island built a shed to house the batteries and control boxes, as well as a rotating solar panel rack to go on the roof.

Customer Testimonial
Choosing a suitable energy solution for our off-grid project was one of the most important decisions we needed to make, and from our initial discussions with Dougal and Tessa at REsource Living, we immediately felt we were in a safe pair of hands. We are located on an island in a river where the only access is by boat, which meant we had real challenges when it came to equipment and material deliveries.
Each and every step, from design of our shed and panel frame, to power requirements, equipment choice, and through to installation and commissioning, was handled with clear guidance and genuine care. The complexities of our location were overcome with a flexible approach, good communications, and reliable services.
Throughout the process we also benefited from an approach whereby we were encouraged to learn about what we were embarking on, because it would better prepare us for the future; we can't just call somebody up to come out and fix things should they go wrong - This is a fundamental aspect of off-grid living, and I think Dougal and Tessa are very good at finding this balance of 'we will help you to help yourself', without easing off from exceptional service. That said, we also have the comfort of knowing that, should anything go wrong, help is just a phone call away should we really need it.
The solution we have is fantastic, and is proving to not only give us what we need in terms of power, but it provides us with a great deal of data - information which will allow us to improve what we do as time goes by, which is incredibly important. I cannot recommend REsource Living highly enough.
